Survived another weekend
I knew Friday would be busy. I knew yesterday would be busy--I mean double services for the holy day, no rest there. What I wasn't expecting was that when Mrs. S handed me the schedule for May/June I'd see my name in the sermonette column for next week. Oh boy. I really wouldn't mind a little more advance warning than that. But I spent this morning working on putting something together, and hopefully we should be about set for the Sabbath. Some good news is that there are two Sabbaths over the next two months that I'm not on the schedule for anything. How did I manage that, you ask? I told Mrs. S I'd be out of town those two weekends. :-D No rest for the weary.

This afternoon I did a little bit of e-mail and went for a walk, but quite frankly I haven't gotten a whole lot of anything accomplished other than the sermonette prep. But I guess that's how it goes.

What do you think?
Expelled: worth trying to see, or a movie to avoid?

Deleavening done
That's not to say I'm 100% sure that I've found every crumb--indeed, I figure there are probably some I missed. But I've done the best I can with it. I forewent social activities last night in favor of jumping back into the kitchen cleaning, and that put me far enough along that I was able to finish the rest of the job (oven, desk, vacuuming, and car) by early afternoon today. And that left me with the rest of the day to go for a walk, catch up on correspondence, gather up the stamps for another requested trade, and so forth. And I'm near about ready for bed at this point.

One interesting thing I discovered while cleaning out the refrigerator on Thursday night is that the aluminum rails that keep things from falling off the shelves in the door actually detach from the door. I had no idea that this was the case, but I took them off and cleaned them out. And judging by the gunk in them I don't know if that had ever been done before. I guess it's kind of like hidden sin--stuff we don't even realize is there maybe for years, then suddenly it's like, oh...I should clean that out.

Spring cleaning has begun
And I've stirred up dust and probably mildew and who knows what else today, and I'm paying for it through allergies. But the dusting is for the most part complete, so hopefully when I start in on deleavening the kitchen (probably not until next weekend although it would be lovely to be able to start before then) I won't have as bad a time with sneezing and such.

It really has been a productive day overall. I cleaned out all the cabinets and scrubbed the bathroom, and I burned the new hymnal CD's. My biggest gripe is that a few of the hymns seem to have been recorded a bit hot (i.e., the input levels were too high which causes distortion at some points), and they sound much louder on my CD player. I suspect I'll get complaints about that, but as Michelle on Full House once said, "This is not my fault!" Oh, and while reviewing a couple of the CD's I burned I noticed that on at least two songs the pianist changes key heading into the last verse. Those should be fun to try to lead, lol.

I would not have minded being in bed an hour ago, and now I really wouldn't mind it, so I'm going to go there now. Goodnight.
